Installation Guide
Our focus is on supplying commercial grade products that support modern orchard management and help growers maximise the value of every harvest.
Reflective Orchard Ground Cover Installation
Step 4 – Inspect Regularly
During the season: Check the film after strong winds. Re-secure loose sections if necessary. Remove leaves, excessive dust or debris where practical to maintain reflectivity.
Step 5 – Harvest
The reflective film remains in place throughout the planned pre-harvest period while normal orchard operations continue. Take care to avoid damaging the film with machinery or equipment.
Step 6 – Remove After Harvest
Once harvesting is complete: Carefully lift and roll the film. Inspect for damage. Clean if recommended by the manufacturer. Store in a clean, dry location if the product is intended for reuse. Dispose of single-season products responsibly according to local waste management practices.
Important Notice
Installation methods may vary depending on the orchard layout, crop, equipment and product specification.
Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and adapt installation practices to your local growing conditions.
Proper installation is essential to maximise the effectiveness of reflective orchard ground cover. Always follow your orchard management programme and install the product when fruit enters its final colour development stage.
Step 1 – Prepare the Orchard
Before installation: Mow or remove excessive grass between the rows. Remove rocks, branches and sharp objects that could damage the film. Ensure the orchard floor is as level and clean as practical. A clean orchard floor allows the reflective film to lie flat and reflect light more effectively.
Step 2 – Roll Out the Film
Position the roll at the beginning of the tree row. Carefully unroll the reflective film between the tree rows, ensuring the reflective surface faces upward. Avoid twisting, folding or stretching the film during installation
Step 3 – Secure the Film
Secure the edges using suitable anchors, soil, sandbags or other approved fixing methods. The film should remain flat and stable to minimise movement caused by wind.
Best Practice Tips
- Install only during the recommended pre-harvest period.
- Ensure the reflective surface faces upward.
- Keep the film positioned between the tree rows—not around the tree trunks.
- Secure the film properly to reduce wind movement.
- Inspect the installation regularly throughout the season.
- Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for handling, storage and reuse.
Installation Period
When to Install
Typically installed during the final few weeks before harvest.
Different crops use different timings.
The ideal installation period depends on the crop, cultivar, local climate and the grower's orchard management programme.
Once harvesting is complete, the reflective film is removed, cleaned where appropriate, and stored or disposed of according to the product specification.
